Telephone conversation of
Poland's and Italy's foreign ministers
Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski had a telephone
conversation today with the new Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini.
The ministers talked about the situation in Ukraine and in Afghanistan, Italy’s
upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union, and Polish–Italian
co-operation, including its economic dimension.
Minister Sikorski congratulated Mogherini on her
appointment as chief of Italian diplomacy. Federica Mogherini took the position
in Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's new cabinet on February 22nd. She is a member
of the Italian parliament representing the Democratic Party.
"We hope that our cooperation with Italy’s new
government will remain as close as possible," Minister Sikorski told his
Italian counterpart.
