Poland and US chiefs of
diplomacy speak by telephone
US Secretary of State John Kerry and Minister Radosław
Sikorski spoke by telephone on Thursday afternoon about the situation in
Ukraine. The call was initiated by the US side.
Secretary Kerry thanked Minister Sikorski for his
engagement in the process of peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
The Polish and US chiefs of diplomacy agreed that the United States and the
European Union should support the newly formed government in Kyiv on the path
of further political and economic transformation. They also expressed their
hope that the current events in Crimea will not escalate and will not have a
negative effect on Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Minister Sikorski and Secretary Kerry declared that
they will be in regular contact in order to support a peaceful resolution of
the situation in Ukraine.
