Award committee of the
Polish Diaspora Product of the Year meets in Warsaw
“We have established the Polish Diaspora Product of
the Year award to recognize the potential and innovativeness of Poles who are
active outside the country, and by being active promote the POLSKA brand,”
Undersecretary of State Katarzyna Kacperczyk told the Polish Diaspora Product
of the Year award committee, which met in Warsaw on 5 March.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will award the Polish
Diaspora Product of the Year prize for the first time in 2014. The distinction
will go to a product that helps enhance the image of Polish entrepreneurship,
has a considerable potential of innovation, and plays a significant part in
raising the profile of Poland and Poles abroad.
The award committee, which comprises Polish diplomats,
Ministry of Economy officials, representatives of the Polish Agency for
Enterprise Development and Polish Chamber of Commerce, and journalists,
discussed a total of 27 entries. Candidates were put up, among others, by
Polish diplomatic posts and Polish community organizations. Winners will be
announced and presented with awards on 2 May, which marks the Day of the Polish
Diaspora and Poles Abroad.
