Ambassador of the Russian
Federation called to the MFA
On Tuesday, 4 March, Ambassador of the Russian
Federation to Poland HE Alexander Alekseev was called to the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. He met with Director of the Eastern
Department Ewa Figel who communicated Poland’s assessment of the events in
Ukraine to Russia.
During the meeting, Ambassador Alekseev was informed
that Russian operations in Crimea represent an infringement of the territorial
integrity and sovereignity of Ukraine, a violation of the provisions of the UN
Charter, of the principles of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in
Europe, and of a number of the Russian Federation’s international commitments,
including Ukraine-Russia bilateral agreements.
